On 31 January, the night will shine with a piece of history as a super blue blood moon takes over and the perfect place to see this is at Mt Coot-tha Lookout.

A super blue blood moon is a blue moon and a total lunar eclipse, which will happen all at once. The last time the blue blood moon graced the earth’s skies was on 31 March 1866. A blue moon is the second full moon that takes place in a calendar month. In Brisbane, the moon will be at its peak around midnight , so make sure that you have your cameras ready and probably a loved one beside you to make the experience even more worthwhile!

Mt Coot-tha Lookout is a great spot here in the west to enjoy spectacular views of Brisbane. There is also a cafe, the Kuta Cafe, where you can eat and have a cup of coffee.
